McAfee SaaS Email Protection Training Guide – Group Administrator Role
Proprietary and Confidential Page 5-2
5.2. Create a new policy
As a Group administrator, you can create new Group Level policies if you are the administrator of a
Group. I.e. you cannot create a new policy if you do not administer at least one group.
When creating a new Policy, you must choose another policy from which to copy. The only polices
from which you can copy are:
Customer level policies - policies created by a customer administrator and the owner is
‘customer’
Group Level policies that you own – policies whose owner is one of the groups of which are a
Group Administrator
There is no limit to the number of policies a group owns
The Email Protection Policy and Web Protection Policy tabs display only if you have been assigned
as the Administrator of a group.
When copying from an existing policy, the policy actions are copied, however manually entered lists
are not copied over by default. You can choose to copy all entries on the following lists. This is
beneficial if you utilize, for example, the Allow list on the default policy and you want the same
entries to apply to your new policy. This eliminates the need to manage the same information on
many policies.
